Professor and researcher Jorge Villagrasa, a member of the STEER Research Group, has recently received two awards at international conferences, together with his co-authors Colin Donaldson, Felipe Sánchez-Coll, Asli Cazorla, and Fernando Fernández García, for research focused on educational innovation.
At the International Conference on Innovative Education in Business and Economics (ICIEBE 2026), the paper “From Game to Strategy: Teaching Sustainability Through Serious Games in Business Education”, authored by Jorge Villagrasa, Colin Donaldson, and Asli Cazorla, received the Best Paper Award in the Sustainability category. The study proposes an innovative methodology for teaching sustainability in business education through the use of serious games and Team Management Decision Cards.
Likewise, at CISMES 2026, the paper “Are Governance Scores Already Priced In? A Machine Learning Reassessment of the Governance Return Premium in Developed Markets”, authored by Jorge Villagrasa, Colin Donaldson, Felipe Sánchez-Coll, and Fernando Fernández García, received the Best Scientific Paper Award. The study analyses the relationship between corporate governance indicators and the performance of listed companies using machine learning techniques, based on an analysis of firms included in the S&P and EUROSTOXX indices.
