Marta Riera is an Assistant Professor at the University of Valencia, where she obtained her PhD in 2018, obtaining the qualification of Outstanding Cum Laude. At the beginning of her professional career, she worked as a consultant for multinational companies in the consultancy firm PwC, where she worked for four years. After finishing this stage in 2014, she has dedicated herself to teaching and research in different universities, combining her PDI tasks with those of university management, working as Academic Director and Director of the MBA at the International University of Valencia, from 2019 to 2022.

Her research focuses mainly on the study of Corporate Social Irresponsibility, Corporate Social Responsibility, managerial elites and business strategy. Her results can be seen published in some of the main journals in the field of business management, such as the journal Corporate Social Irresponsibility and Environmental Management, indexed in the first decile of JCR, the journal Business & Society, indexed in the second quartile of JCR, and also in the European Journal of Management and Business Economics, indexed in the first quartile of Scopus. Her publications already exceed 250 citations since 2017.

Currently, she is also Guest Editor of the Special Issue: Sustainability in Family Firms: The Path Forward of the journal Business Ethics, the Environment & Responsibility.
