The Universitat de València hosted the 15th EIASM Workshop on Top Management Teams and Business Strategy Research, held on March 26–27 at the Faculty of Economics, further establishing itself as an international hub for academic debate in strategic management.

From the STEER research group, we had the privilege of contributing to the organization of this workshop, together with EIASM, the Faculty of Economics of the Universitat de València, and the Chair of Family Business (CEFUV).

The event brought together national and international scholars to reflect on strategic leadership in a context shaped by environmental, technological, and social transformation, fostering a highly valuable space for academic exchange.

The workshop was chaired by Marta Riera (Universitat de València, member of our team) and Paula Villalba (University of Seville).

In addition, researchers from our academic environment actively contributed to the workshop with the presentation of the following papers:

  • Strategic Decision-Making and Owner–Manager Duality in Privately Held Family Firms (Juan Nabás)
  • Strategic Change During Global Crises: The Role of Strategic Leadership in SME Renewal (Miguel Medina-Córdoba, María Iborra)
  • Legacy at Risk: Can Corporate Governance Mitigate the Risks of CEO Entrenchment and Excessive Power in Family Firm Legacy? (Marta Riera, Eric Clinton, Jorge Villagrasa, Alejandro Escribá-Esteve)
  • Mapping the Conceptual Landscape of Board–TMT Interplay: Theoretical Approaches and Research Gaps (Luis Saurat, María Iborra, Alejandro Escribá-Esteve, Zeki Simsek)

Undoubtedly, it was a highly enriching experience to contribute to the organization of this workshop and to host leading scholars in the field of strategic management at our university.
